Meet Some Key Members Of Our Expert Staff

Alan A. AndolsenEllen ZimmermanSusan Trerotola

Alan A. Andolsen, president of Naremco Services, Inc., is a Certified Management Consultant and a Certified Records Manager. He is responsible for overall project management and works with senior client management to develop implementation strategies. He also maintains Naremco's professional standards of practice.

Mr. Andolsen is an expert at creating administrative systems that recognize both the diversity of human capabilities and the potential of emerging technologies. For more than 25 years, he has pioneered practical techniques for the management of digital records and lectured on their application in Japan, Europe, China, and throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, he has lectured on business ethics at the University of Dayton, Rutgers and Monmouth Universities, and presented papers on business ethics topics in Poland, Slovenia, and Greece.

Since joining Naremco in 1976, Mr. Andolsen has focused on the creation of:

  • Comprehensive digital records management systems.
  • Information management, retention, and compliance programs.
  • Team-based administrative support systems.
  • Corporate mail and reprographics systems.
  • Functional administrative space and equipment designs.
  • Client staff training programs.

In his management career, Mr. Andolsen has been vice president for programs at Bergamo East in Marcy, NY, where he developed management and training seminars; director of the Bureau of Administration for the Metropolitan Health Department of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, with responsibility for administrative support systems, inventory control and facilities maintenance; and director of Information Systems for the Metropolitan Health Department of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee, where he created its first data processing, records management, micrographics, and forms management operations.

Mr. Andolsen is the author of "Office Systems Management" and "Forms Management" in the AMA Management Handbook (2nd Edition), editor of Management Consulting: a Model Course (AMCF), and has offered seminars in office systems and information management for many professional associations, as well as lecturing at the University of Dayton, Vanderbilt University, Monmouth University, and the European School of Management (ESCP-EAP).

Mr. Andolsen serves as President of the Board of Regents of the Institute of Certified Records Managers, Chair of the Code of Ethics Committee of AMCF - the Association of Management Consulting Firms, a member of the Certification Review Board of the National Association for Information Destruction, and a Trustee of the Foundation for Excellence in Consulting and Management.

Previously, Mr. Andolsen served as AMCF's Vice Chair for the Americas and Asia/Pacific and as a member of the Boards of the New York Revels, the Jupiter Symphony, the Calisto Chamber Players, and the Ecole Libre des Hautes Etudes. He is a member of ARMA International's Strategic Planning and Professional Issues Committees and Competency Development Project and has participated in ARMA International's Task Forces on E-Mail Standards and Records Centers.

Mr. Andolsen received an AB degree magna cum laude from Borromeo College of Ohio, and an MA degree from the University of Dayton. He also studied at John Carroll and Notre Dame Universities and worked toward the doctorate at Vanderbilt University. In 2006, he received the second Distinguished Service Award from AMCF.


Ellen Zimmerman, vice president of Naremco Services, Inc., is a Certified Management Consultant and Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants. As a specialist in administrative systems and procedures, she is skilled in problem definition and analysis, and has designed and implemented solutions to a wide range of management problems.

Ms. Zimmerman has a particular interest in the human problems that often accompany the installation of automated information systems. She is adept at helping client staff to become familiar with new systems and procedures, a critical step in assuring that these systems will function effectively.

Before joining Naremco, Ms. Zimmerman served in various management and internal consulting positions. Her past experience and current expertise include:

  • Design and implementation of automated as well as manual operating and management systems, aimed at improving efficiency and reducing costs.
  • Implementation of productivity improvement plans.
  • Development of automated and manual systems and procedures for large and small-scale administrative operations.
  • Database design, development, and implementation for large-scale personnel and insurance applications.
  • Product evaluation, purchase contract development, and vendor monitoring and control.

Ms. Zimmerman received a BA degree from Barnard College and an MS degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University. She served in the Peace Corps in Tunisia. She also has served as president of the Greater New York Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants and a member of the National Executive Board of the Institute of Management Consultants.


Susan Trerotola
is managing director of Naremco Services, Inc., specializing in administrative support systems and records management. She offers particular expertise in client staff training and in helping clients to become comfortable with and skilled at using new systems and technologies.

Ms. Trerotola is interested in helping clients to develop and implement new systems and procedures in ways that fit in with their work styles and corporate culture. She is skilled at analyzing needs and tailoring equipment, space design, and procedures to the unique requirements of a particular client. Ms. Trerotola's areas of expertise include:

  • Design and structure of authorized records retention schedules.
  • Design and supervision of corporate records inventories.
  • Planning and design of in-house records storage facilities including equipment and vendor evaluation, space planning, lighting requirements and preparation of building specifications.
  • Creation of records management systems for active and inactive records.
  • Documentation of operating procedures that include filing and indexing systems, records locator controls, central files, authorized records destruction and preparation of equipment and vendor specifications.
  • Creation of indexing systems including uniform file classification systems and consistent records management policies and procedures.
  • Design and development of records management applications for personal computers, which include retention schedule generation as well as inactive records location, retention and destruction.
  • Analysis of administrative support workloads, workflows and task patterns and design of procedural structures to assure effective and efficient support staff operations.

Prior to joining Naremco, Ms. Trerotola served in various administrative positions with the Liberty National Bank and Hudson City Savings Bank of New Jersey. She received her BA degree in Communications from the Catholic University of America and an MA degree from New York University.
